Hatteras Kite Trip 2008

Well, this was one of the best kite trips yet. A week in Hatteras, North Carolina, with good friends, fair temps and great wind! Oh yeah, and Guitar Hero.

After a 22 ish hour drive we were on the water by 9:30 in the morning for our first session. Having very little sleep we were going on pure adrenalin. It was a fantastic session. Crashed hard into the bed after that one.

The rest of the week only got even better. Strong winds allowed for 10m kite sizes, although I was stuck on a 14 the entire time. Still, it was manageable. A few days the water was quite cold with the NW winds, but it really warmed up by the end of the week riding in SW winds.

Many hours and many tired bodies ended up in a lot of progression for most riders. I myself added a bag of new tricks. Back roll transitions, front spins and double back spins. Word.

There's so much more that could be said. But I could be here for hours. If you weren't there, you missed out. I guess there's always next year. For now you can check out some of the photos and I'll soon have a video posted.
