Update

So, it's been a while since I've updated my page here. A lot has gone on in the last few months. Managed to get a lot of great kitesurfing in on my new 10m Rise. That kite is awesome! Problem now is that I'm a bit further away from kiting.

See, reason for that is I'm now in Maryland. Yep, made a big move. Way more work and way more costly then I wanted, but such is life. We loaded up half our stuff in a UHaul and made the drive ourselves. A few bumps along the way, but we are here now. Been a week, and things are still being setup and organized. Hoping to get out to the local climbing gym and check out the closest kiting area sometime this week. We'll see how things go. Not going to be as easy to do either of them around here though.

Anyway, I'll try to do better to get some more pictures up of the new adventures that I'm sure will come.

Common Courtesy

SkullRockApril6 041.JPGYesterday was a great day to be out climbing. Although still plagued by some nagging injuries, I tagged along with a few old friends to check out some bouldering. We ended up in Skull Rock. It's not exactly where we intended, but with shady directions and crap descriptions of some magical boulders in the area we were foiled.

We ended up at the Knobs of Bishop boulder. One of the better boulders in the area with some great looking lines. There was one unclimbed arete remaining. Zig, after several attempts managed to make the FA of Common Courtesy. The top out looked a bit sketch to myself. But what do I know, it's been a long time since I've done any serious climbing. Anyway, check out the photos and short video in the gallery.

Hatteras Kite Trip 2008

hatteras2008 031.jpgWell, this was one of the best kite trips yet. A week in Hatteras, North Carolina, with good friends, fair temps and great wind! Oh yeah, and Guitar Hero.

After a 22 ish hour drive we were on the water by 9:30 in the morning for our first session. Having very little sleep we were going on pure adrenalin. It was a fantastic session. Crashed hard into the bed after that one.

The rest of the week only got even better. Strong winds allowed for 10m kite sizes, although I was stuck on a 14 the entire time. Still, it was manageable. A few days the water was quite cold with the NW winds, but it really warmed up by the end of the week riding in SW winds. hatteras2008 013.jpg

Many hours and many tired bodies ended up in a lot of progression for most riders. I myself added a bag of new tricks. Back roll transitions, front spins and double back spins. Word.

IMG_0226.jpgThere's so much more that could be said. But I could be here for hours. If you weren't there, you missed out. I guess there's always next year. For now you can check out some of the photos and I'll soon have a video posted.
